Marta, with over 10 years of experience in clinical practice, embodies a deep passion for psychology, shaped by her multicultural upbringing spanning Scotland and Spain. Her academic journey began at Complutense University of Madrid, where she engaged in diverse experiences, from volunteering in Navalcarnero Prison to collaborating with the Fundación Atenea on programs for psychosocial counseling and social reintegration.

During her tenure at the Complutense University of Madrid Clinic, Marta discovered that therapy extends beyond dialogue—it equips individuals with practical tools to navigate life’s emotional challenges.

After completing her degree, Marta ventured to Edinburgh, Scotland, her father’s homeland, to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Here, she focused on improving their quality of life through personalized support plans, fostering independence and better communication, all underscored by a positive, respectful, and proactive approach.

Recognizing the need for culturally sensitive psychological services, Marta founded “Psicologia en Edimburgo” (Psychology in Edinburgh), offering services in Spanish, Greek, Catalan, and English. This initiative stems from Marta’s own experiences adapting to new environments, a journey she witnessed many others navigate as well.

Drawing from her multicultural background, Marta is dedicated to serving adults and couples from diverse backgrounds, with expertise in emotional instability, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. She approaches therapy with warmth and flexibility, utilizing techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Marta’s commitment to growth led her to pursue advanced training in EMDR, enhancing her ability to address emotional trauma effectively.

Known for her warmth and dedication, Marta creates a welcoming space for healing and understanding in her practice, where individuals from all walks of life find a safe space, support, practical tools and guidance.
